Celebrating 100 years of civil aviation in the Netherlands

Looking back in history, it is fair to say that the emergence of civil aviation has had a major impact on our society. The opportunities it has created both for business and for pleasure are innumerable. Home to one of the busiest airports in Europe and one of the oldest airlines in the world, it is clear that civil aviation has been an essential ingredient for global connectivity, economic growth and prosperity in the Netherlands. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, NLR Netherlands Aerospace Centre and Fokker Technologies will all be celebrating their centenary in 2019. They have much to be proud of.
